The Quantock Hills AONB were once again the venue for teaching expedition skills for Bridgwater College.
Todays group were the Btec Level 2 Outdoor Adventure students. We spent the day practising all the navigation techniques required to complete their 2 day expedition on Exmoor that is coming up in a few weeks time. The students took it in turns to work in pairs and solo to navigate legs of the circular route that started and finished at Crowcombe Park gate. They were also tasked with thinking about their group management skills.
The weather was very kind to us compared to the forecast. We had a small shower at the start of the day followed by sunny spells unlike the vale of Taunton which was 7 miles south of us and took a beating from heavy rain all day. Fortune favours the brave they say!
