Today I spent the day at Bridgwater YMCA teaching students from Bridgwater College. Having already spent 4 sessions in closed cockpit kayaks and sit on top kayaks today we started 4 weeks of open canoe skills. The students (who turned up) did really well in the miserable conditions, putting up with persistent drizzly rain and gusty winds. We spent some time on basic tandem and solo skills as well as throw bag work and loading/securing canoes to a trailer.
